Facial Cupping Review

Cupping, basically giving yourself a voluntary hickey.  I have been doing body cupping regularly for about 2 years, but facial cupping was new to me when I saw it on the beauty scene this past year.
Since facial cupping has become so huge with celebrities and beauty bloggers and I though hey I gotta try this shit out if it does everything people are claiming. I mean I love body cupping so why not slap some cups on my face too!

After doing some research on amazon I picked up the Lure Glam Facial Cupping Set for a reasonable $29 and two days later I opened my package like a little kid on Christmas day!

Before I get into my own opinion and experience let me give you some insight into it's claims. On the back of the bag it says facial cupping will "Visibly reduce fine lines & wrinkles, increase collagen production, improve facial contours, elasticity & efficacy of your regular skincare products (oil, moisturizers, serums) in as little as 3-5 minutes a day"(Lure Glam) . The idea, I assume, like many facial and beauty treatments, it encourages blood flow to the surface of the skin to help with rejuvenation and cell reproduction.

First things first, you need a good facial oil. I used Boscia Tsubaki beauty oil, because it's what I had in my makeup bag, but any facial oil will do. The oil allows for the cups to slide easily over the skins surface. Now I have sensitive skin and am prone to breakouts. If this is a struggle you also deal with your first step is to find a facial oil that works with your skin. The last thing you want is to have a crazy breakout because of the oil. Looking like a greasy pizza isn't a goal of mine! I found an article from bustle  that may help you with your search.

Now back to how to used these damn silicon cones. Before starting, wash your face with a gentle exfoliating cleanser, you want the oil to absorb into the skin to reap the benefits! Then apply a layer of facial oil, don't go crazy, but like any serum you want to fully cover your face and neck so you won't have unnecessary pulling on the skin.

Once you have oiled your face like a frying pan, time to get cupping! The kit comes with two sizes, large and small. The large cup is obviously used for the forehead, neck and cheeks. The small cup is used for the eyes and lips. I started with the forehead and worked my way to the cheeks, and neck. The Lure Glam kit has an idiot proof guide on the back of the bag to help you, trust me I needed it! Just like serums and creams always work in an upward motion and away from the center of your face. When I started on my forehead I immediately felt relaxed, it helped relieve a lot of tension in my brow and jaw line. Honestly, even if it doesn't do much for my wrinkles, the release of tension in my face was worth it. I am a brow furrower and this helped me go from angry bitch face to resting and relaxed bitch face!

Warning, if your facial gets red easily don't freak out, but it will look like you just took a trip to Cancun and forgot to wear sunscreen. As long as you keep moving the cups along your skin the redness is only momentary. Practice on your arm just to get the motion down if your nervous!

When you move on to the smaller cup for the lips and eye area, instead of gliding the cup across the face you use a catch and release method. Gently suctioning the skin and then releasing it and moving around the eyes. At the end I cleansed again with a gentle cream cleanser because I didn't want to break out from the oil, but you can also just move on with your day.

My initial thoughts, I loved it! My skin felt soft and smooth, and because of all the suction I had a nice glow! As previously stated it was very relaxing and stress reducing. For $29 I give it my stamp of approval. I was having so much fun my husband made me do it to him and he loved it as well! Thank god the package came with two sets of each cause I wasn't about to share something that goes on my face with him! I mean I love him, but he's a man and well they have cooties!
