I Need You: Jack's Wife Freda

Normally around this time of the year I take a trip up to New York City for the night and basically stuff my face with as many amazing meals as possible and leave like Violet Beauregarde from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. This year I am traveling to some new places and had to forgo my Spring New York Trip. Reminiscing about some of the amazing meals I'm missing out on this year, Jack's Wife Freda was the first to pop into my mind.

This cozy, almost European style bistro offers an amazing menu and ambience. Their menu has something for everyone and is a perfect brunch or dinner spot. I have been a few times and I have been to both their locations, one off Lafayette and the other off Carmine. The food and service were amazing at both locations! If your looking for a romantic other world vibe, where everyone speaks English, this is the place to go!

The last time I was there I got strep throat and this Matzo Ball soup was a life saver. I mean I still had a fire throat and wanted to swallow boiling water and ice cubes at the same time. But it did give me some life to keep the night going, before I turned into a mute.

This glorious sandwich is the Madame Freda. It is a  basically a duck prosciutto grilled cheese with a fried egg on top. Simply amazing, so amazing in fact I've gotten it twice. Sharing it both times, but still worthy of eating it again!

The skirt steak sandwich was just as good as the duck prosciutto. Covered in garlic butter, this was the best steak sandwich I've had in a long time. The steak was made so well and it didn't need anything but the garlic butter and roll!

Bonus if you live in New York they deliver!
