Beer Bourbon & BBQ, what more could a girl want?
This past week I went to the Beer, Bourbon & BBQ festival . This is the 3rd year I've gone and it never disappoints! For $40 you can drink all the beer and bourbon your heart desires (time to break out that trusty Uber or Lyft) and if you buy VIP tickets in advance (same price as regular admission non-advanced) it includes free food! This year we got an entire BBQ meal included which was awesome!
The tasting glass was a perfect size! You could also ask for a small sample before committing to anything!
BOURBON, BOURBON & more BOURBON
I basically kept to bourbon because there were so many I don't have at home and let's be honest I felt like a boss just drinking bourbon all day! But there were some awesome pumpkin beers that I went with as well!
I went with Gentleman Jack which was amazing! Each booth also offered ice which was perfect since it was a hot day and the booze was a little warm.
This was one of my favorites of the day and will totally be purchasing it for Christmas gifts for my bourbon lovers!
I didn't get pictures of all the beer I drank, but there was a Lambic station and she even combined some for a fun mix! It was a refreshing change from the bourbon. Honestly my favorite combo was a little bourbon and pumpkin beer, something about the spices from the beer and the spice of the bourbon made an awesome combo! That could have also been the fact I had been drinking bourbon for an hour and things were starting to go to my head. But next time you drink a pumpkin beer throw a little bourbon in the glass and test it out!
It was fun just to sit and people watch on the curb. At any event like this it can be easy to get overwhelmed and you forget to just sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful day!
FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!!!
In terms of food, we just ate at one of the free meal spots. We went with Jadean's Smokin' BBQ. I like that they had a ton of sauces and the hush puppies were on point!
I went with the pulled chicken, and think next time I'd go with the pork. The baked beans were spicy and the fries were necessary for soaking up the booze!
Hubert's lemonade and Honest tea were there giving out free drinks. The Tea was amazing to use as a chaser/mixer for some of the less smooth bourbons we tried!
